Letter From the Board of Directors Date: 01-26-2010
January 25, 2010
Dear Residents:
The Barberton Community Foundation will be moving forward to find a new executive director. The Foundation Staff and Board of Directors are committed to the residents of Barberton and will continue to listen to your concerns in this process as well as to how we can do our jobs better.
The Foundation has made major impacts on just about every phase of community through nearly $60 million in grants, almost $2 million in college scholarships and millions more in economic and neighborhood developments. We all are working toward one goal, making Barberton the best place it can be to live, work and go to school. We work closely with the City, the Schools, BCDC, and all other community and service organizations to make this possible. Are we there yet? No. But we need every citizen and organization to move in the same direction. The Foundation strives to be a catalyst in that process.
Again, the Staff and Board are working for you, the citizens of the best community in Summit County and beyond. Purple Pride is not just some silly slogan, it is a reality and something we all hold dear to us. Let's work in unison to continue to build it.
The Foundation Board of Directors fully supports each of its members. No individual board member is any more important than any other, regardless of his or her position on the board. Decisions are made by the full board.
While each decision may not be perfect, our members devote a great deal of time to ensure productive discussions and votes based on researching the information we have.
Thank you for the trust that you have placed in us. We promise to continue to make the Foundation a vehicle to improve the quality of life in our great city.
